Getting your home spaces organized is a wonderful way to get the whole family involved with repurposing spaces in your home to make the school year less stressful. Yes--kids are capable of organizing and making decisions which gives them some autonomy in the process.
Having predictable places to store your items and find your items can lead to a less stressful morning routine. Let kiddos make some decison. Perhaps they can pick out some organizing product, maybe they can make the labels or even help with creating the space that works for them.
Creating a calming space for kids to work is beneficial for them to be successful and feel a sense of independence. Having "natural homes" for these items can help them get organized and stay focused during the school year.

Create a space for younger kids to either display some of their artwork or create a bin, basket, container for them to put their creative pieces into for storing or displaying at a future time.
If you have space get an erasable calendar for important school functions, sporting events, performances, etc. Having a visual calendar can be helpful during some of those stressful times.
